Back of house after a little TLC from the tractor. Leveling ground is a little more tricky and time consuming that one thinks! We're a long way from finishing but this is a good start.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is the back of the house. Probably my favorite part. </div>

We have now moved up to wood! Lots of wood!<br />
<br />
Forms have been set. Then of course, the rain came pouring down Tuesday so guess what we're doing today!?! Waiting!!<br />
<br />
Weather looks good for the next week or so, so we are enthusiastic about getting some more accomplished!<br />
<br />
Bring it on Jimmy!<br />
<br />
Here are some pictures of the forms thus far :)<br />

So all this rain we're getting is good, right? WRONG!<br />
<br />
When water just sits on the ground rather than being absorbed that means the ground isn't thirsty any more. It doesn't want another drink. So why is it still raining? Why is God forcing the ground to drink? IDK. Maybe He's preparing us for another long-hot-dry- year? Or maybe He wants us to learn a slower pace life? Or maybe He wants Russell and I to put our plans aside and follow His lead?<br />
<br />
I'm gonna go with all the above. I hope to heaven we do not have another dry year. I don't think any of the plants or trees or humans can survive it. And I really would love a slower pace life. I'm always telling myself "you don't have to do it all, Katie". And lastly, I ABSOLUTELY know the Mr. and I need to follow the Lord's lead rather than our own. We might 'think' we know what's best for us or when we need something but it is completely out of our hands. And I think this is an example of that.<br />
<br />
We haven't had one ounce of rain the whole time we've been talking about building. Then, we close on everything and give our contractor the green light and it can't stop raining. Who would have thunk it!?!<br />
<br />
Well, the Lord does know best so we'll see what His timing has in store for us.<br />
<br />
Here is the progress thus far:<br />
<br />

Decisions Decisions!I have finally decided what counter tops we will be using. BIG decision that is now checked off our list!<br />
<br />
Kitchen theme we are doing is cream and black. Cabinet color's will be cream with black accent cabinets. Our inspiration picture is below.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNHzQrZTeDRqCPyDgafknjFoGuhJ6N2tlrTEKqJ5fSN4UYKeqjZHRspHtvh-WB3D49Xxmc13rcLg-ghf2JVAFSg6_VTdTei3Yj4jW_dr-ARkoKbG0TaE-MTyJ3wh4ulQ6w4lI3b8HoLO4/s1600/photo-6765.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNHzQrZTeDRqCPyDgafknjFoGuhJ6N2tlrTEKqJ5fSN4UYKeqjZHRspHtvh-WB3D49Xxmc13rcLg-ghf2JVAFSg6_VTdTei3Yj4jW_dr-ARkoKbG0TaE-MTyJ3wh4ulQ6w4lI3b8HoLO4/s640/photo-6765.jpg" width="474" /></a></div><br />
<br />
The counter tops are going to be black honed granite.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0QG7hs92iTyVSIV1rIkdLcKaPFQxRvDIEy-NkSJ2rPV6xLez_q6mReeOWky2GYRFZ1OnmM2zXJR1Ek77GWsjxh52U1DB_H-rOHiV5dY1jc0qmnNSZzleUXpCQGvyLEf3rr1H6cP6M4Ww/s1600/Kitchen1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0QG7hs92iTyVSIV1rIkdLcKaPFQxRvDIEy-NkSJ2rPV6xLez_q6mReeOWky2GYRFZ1OnmM2zXJR1Ek77GWsjxh52U1DB_H-rOHiV5dY1jc0qmnNSZzleUXpCQGvyLEf3rr1H6cP6M4Ww/s640/Kitchen1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Master bath will be completely different. Those vanity countertops will be Calacatta marble. I LOVE this stuff! Kinda pricey so I picked a smaller area. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

But to me and Russell it looks like a step forward! See the pink string in it? That is our front door :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Our contractor, Jimmy, and ourselves staked off the front of our house. You can see between what trees it will rest, where the house turns and it's corners and offsets, where the living room will be, theater room too, and you can finally visualize what the front door/porch will be looking out at. Ah! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Today I am feeling a bit like this poor little guy. He doesn't know which way is up. I can sympathize.<br />
<br />
Between the bank, the ACC of our neighborhood, and insurance companies, I just want to say UNCLE!!!! I GIVE! If I could just put them all on a conference call and let them hash it out with one another. Then when they've all come to a mutual agreement, let me know what we need to do. AH!!<br />
<br />
But until then, I'm going to blog about it on here. Cause the odds of a conference call amongst them is slim to none.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-339710168183346379.post-71990576143699611692012-02-01T13:36:00.000-06:002012-02-01T13:36:40.307-06:00Windows 101Before we started this process Russell and I felt that we had been around enough new construction, remodels, builders, designers, etc. that we had a pretty good idea of everything it took to generate a house. Of course you had your lumber, your roof, concrete, appliances, floors, and of course your windows. Along with many other things. But never did we think within each category you have about a million subcategories.<br />
<br />
For example, windows. You have casement, 1 light, 6 lights, double hung, picture windows, fixed, vinyl, aluminum, bronze, almond, white, and the list goes on and on.<br />
<br />
I found a website that broke it down to the basics. Layman's terms! Showed you pictures with coordinating names so that any person can interpret. And when your builder asks you what type of windows you want you can have a better answer than "IDK.... clear..." Yes, that unfortunately was me. :)<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Trips to Dallas never cease to amaze me because you always find something there you don't need nor did you intend on buying. I will say this trip did take me by surprise. I never in a MILLION years thought we'd come home with this! It's a chiminea on steroids. Very cool it is indeed, however going back to my TV comment "who needs something this big?" Really? This thing is big enough to keep a forest warm more than a porch. The funny part of the story is after we purchased this 'thing' Russell and I looked at each other and were like "what just happened"? Both of us thought it was the other person who wanted it. So does that mean we both wanted it, or neither of us wanted it?? Who knows. But neither of us are taking the credit/blame of picking it out. Maybe my sour attitude is because all these things we've been buying are still boxed up? Maybe it's because we have bought so much junk for a house we STILL do not have. Or even maybe, just MAYBE it's because I am having to compromise my taste with the Mr.?? Whatever it is, I just want to see my house already, lay in my bath tub, put dishes in the dishwasher, walk to MY laundry room, and have a wall that separates me from the hubby and dog (is it sad that I categorize them together??)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;"><br />

Harris County is just full of delightful employees and well managed building stipulations. They are so fun and easy to work with. And let me tell you, they know their stuff. EVERY word they say is completely true and you don't ever have to second guess yourself or do their job for them. And you can just tell by the smile on each employees faces that they just love their job and are ready to help you in any way possible. They make building a house SO easy and enjoyable! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

SOLD!Last night Kacie, Russell, and myself experienced our first home furnishings auction! It was quite the experience and just like the movies!<br />
<br />
There's a place near the Galleria in Houston called <a href="http://www.mortonkuehnert.com/">Morton Kuehnert</a> Auctioneers and Appraisers. It's off Richmond Ave. Theirs an auction every Thursday starting at 7. And each Tuesday night before the auction, you can go online to view the products.<br />
<br />
I did just that and saw a few pieces I liked. So we all built up the courage to go. We decided if nothing else, it would be a neat experience! And it was!<br />
<br />
We started the night off by looking at the products up stairs. A few of the pieces I had fell in love with online were not what I had envisioned in person so we nixed those. There were a few pieces left that Russell found and the chairs I fell in love with! We sat down to get ready for bidding and Russell pointed out that we weren't even facing the Auctioneer. WOW! We're not newbies at all!! :) So we chanced seats to see all the action and get ready to raise that paddle.<br />
<br />
Finally, lot number 172.... our first piece of interest! Russ was the official paddle raiser cause Kacie wouldn't do it! And neither would I. SOLD- to paddle number 70!!! The hutch was ours! If only every buying experience was that easy. Now onto lot number 194. 2 Beautiful Louis XVI armchairs. OMG I'm so nervous at this point. Kacie and I are giggling and Russell is refusing to raise the paddle b/c he doesn't like them. Auctioneer: "any interest in these chairs.... finale chance...." Finally I look at RP and say "HURRY RUSSELL". One swift move of the arm and their OURS! "SOLD".<br />
<br />
That easy! This could be addicting. Seriously. Auctions are fun. Anytime you're in the area I encourage you to go. It doesn't costs anything (unless you bid) and they serve hors d'oeuvres, coffee, and drinks. It's free entertainment for 2 hours. Good date night!<br />

The overwhelming emotion I got when I saw something I liked was indescribable. Now days, I don't have time for that anymore. Between work and yeah, work- I'm tired and don't like the fuss that crowds bring. I'm a grinch and very uncomfortable if you put me in a claustrophobic setting or lots of traffic. That's why I live in the country.<br />
<br />
None the less, I've resulted to the internet. My best friend. However, here recently, I have decided that the internet is the devil! Yes, I'm friends with the devil. I'm addicted to it like a druggie is addicted to crack. Besides coffee, it's my high for the day. And we all know what happens when you have access to your "drug" 24/7... it never ends well.<br />
<br />
See, I have these 7 websites that I check daily. <a href="http://www.ideeli.com/invite/k8ie7686">Ideeli</a>, <a href="http://www.hautelook.com/short/3AAMF">HauteLook</a>, <a href="https://www.onekingslane.com/invite/katieholz6">OneKingsLane</a>, <a href="http://www.ruelala.com/invite/kholz03">Ruelala</a>, <a href="http://www.gilt.com/invite/26540568amtvzype229m">Guilt</a>, <a href="http://www.thefoundary.com/invite/k8ie7686">TheFoundary</a>, and <a href="http://www.jossandmain.com/invite/Jm7">Jossandmain</a>. I'm like an accountant checking the time... every 6 minutes is another point. Except with these sites every 24 hours is a new sale. Sometimes 2! Don't get me wrong. I love what I buy, I just buy way to often. I might not have a sink, but doggonit I have a pretty floor lamp and some awesome corbels! :D<br />
<br />
So now you understand why I'm friends with the devil. Not every day do I make a deal with him but today I did. Check it out.<br />

It's so full of festivities and family time! Two things that fill my "love tank" (for those <a href="http://www.garychapman.org/">Dr. Gary Chapman</a> readers, you'll know what I'm talking about).<br />
<div><br />
</div><div>This Christmas should be our last Christmas in our Apt.!!!!!!! I cannot exaggerate how excited that makes us! RP and I both are ready for a HOUSE! 3 years is WAY too long living in 800 sq. feet with 2 people and a dog (which is louder than a human).</div><div><br />
</div><div>We decided this year that we'd get one big joint gift. So, a TV was agreed upon. Russ had pre-reqs for a TV so he knew exactly what he was looking for. Me on the other hand, I did not have anything in mind except a budget. I think spending loads of money on something that will be outdated in 5 months is ridiculous. But I'll drop a fortune on furnishings. So to each their own.</div><div><br />
</div><div>This is what we came home with. If you look closely you'll see a drop of drool on the side of Russell's mouth. :) Excited are we!?!</div><div><br />
</div><div><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmls0RNp-pcHqQzZcaOhgCfziET4CtZ98067tqsoWopqUoKjtnfetxPxVt8Bdzle0T125aLvKSFkt3IZifMk2Njsq5HO6TKQTO8amrwb2EbMML9ng7dk2RD0E7w4hyphenhyphen2JYXuiwTfH20ae8/s1600/photo-53.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmls0RNp-pcHqQzZcaOhgCfziET4CtZ98067tqsoWopqUoKjtnfetxPxVt8Bdzle0T125aLvKSFkt3IZifMk2Njsq5HO6TKQTO8amrwb2EbMML9ng7dk2RD0E7w4hyphenhyphen2JYXuiwTfH20ae8/s640/photo-53.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><br />

For instance, our driveway. I really wanted an asphalt driveway. I love the way they look and think they are so much prettier than concrete. This is a war for us. Russell hates the idea.<br />
<br />
Another opinion Russell has is this dumb Caribou. He has saved it for years to put in his house one day. I am not much of a "mount your killings and hang them in your house" kinda girl. Don't get me wrong, I've grown up around this stuff my whole life and I appreciate it, I just don't want it hanging in my house. So- let's see who wins this battle!?! Maybe this could be leverage for an asphalt driveway.... just sayin'<br />

<br />
Another great find! Last week mom and I went to the Nutcracker Market here in Houston. If you haven't ever been- YOU HAVE TO GO! Even if you don't buy anything, it's still worth the experience and gets you in the holiday spirit. However- I would NEVER go on the weekend. I can't imagine how packed that place gets. Go during the week. Only advice!<br />
<br />
I managed to make an entire round with only buying 1 thing. A pair of antlers. Then, we decided it was worthy of a second trip around before we left for the evening. And that is when I found my piece! It made my whole trip! It's our master bedroom ottoman. Vintage and originally from Mississippi I am in love with it's needlepoint stitching on top and velvet pleated sides. Ah! Things like this melt my heart.<br />

Below are some that I've recently found. Some you might like for your house!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_vh3pYQPPcCzwLu5-Z7yPGjl5wD4rlvnerR3Dj9cBq25WmBxeojhuCXYDHCYJTfpIfZ5wcdRYZwDGdUHktnIq-ECezx1Jybjb3atwQYZvUAUIsyOOrO17Qy96hkY19hlt-_ZXlvXWvHY/s1600/photo-33.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_vh3pYQPPcCzwLu5-Z7yPGjl5wD4rlvnerR3Dj9cBq25WmBxeojhuCXYDHCYJTfpIfZ5wcdRYZwDGdUHktnIq-ECezx1Jybjb3atwQYZvUAUIsyOOrO17Qy96hkY19hlt-_ZXlvXWvHY/s640/photo-33.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I'm sooo doing this in our laundry room somewhere. I'm notorious for being last minute so that usually puts me in a crunch. This is perfect for grab and go wrapping paper and ribbon. </div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVSMxIbNqr1-7H4mgr7aU5WKNv6lwudNx5XrdebfKZ03i62Rb0fhv9aZCkYUPblCJ25ILrWVsZoDOAZIJR9WeM2VzYRN8ndFocWm3Wy9IBUlVeNYChQbTvbOgxqcJTqdypgBsJ73c5vUw/s1600/photo-35.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVSMxIbNqr1-7H4mgr7aU5WKNv6lwudNx5XrdebfKZ03i62Rb0fhv9aZCkYUPblCJ25ILrWVsZoDOAZIJR9WeM2VzYRN8ndFocWm3Wy9IBUlVeNYChQbTvbOgxqcJTqdypgBsJ73c5vUw/s640/photo-35.jpg" width="426" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And this picture... this is why I want a house period. I CAN'T WAIT to have a yard that we can have all our friends and family over and create all these memories and fun times!</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-d8cOeF2olR84b6LpzEIZ2mAhyphenhyphen1sCHVrnmXakIQjb6lh_nszAcLMQnHE5wMOMq3euMvHrJ2x3Q9NnXonn5jX8mFBhb2AUvJ5_DRRNva4FuMK4DOzfGhHO7qWl7tTEgkcOVN7fR1Tw2_M/s1600/photo-38.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-d8cOeF2olR84b6LpzEIZ2mAhyphenhyphen1sCHVrnmXakIQjb6lh_nszAcLMQnHE5wMOMq3euMvHrJ2x3Q9NnXonn5jX8mFBhb2AUvJ5_DRRNva4FuMK4DOzfGhHO7qWl7tTEgkcOVN7fR1Tw2_M/s640/photo-38.jpg" width="508" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This is par of the eye candy series. How cute is this for a little girls room. I had one when I was little that my grandpa built me. Still have it actually!</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCs5Ag2dYR5okAnM0zmXwFcmStiIW3VtIPloJG3kZnMxWKmczmQCwWBLZ2Ow60ZZNQGuD1Im4i82kCK7gG0bPizfm_E2ipz4uq4kJOmO0UFdZscDAKCNzBjOGU1GzGJWije-J_d-vP7A4/s1600/photo-39.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCs5Ag2dYR5okAnM0zmXwFcmStiIW3VtIPloJG3kZnMxWKmczmQCwWBLZ2Ow60ZZNQGuD1Im4i82kCK7gG0bPizfm_E2ipz4uq4kJOmO0UFdZscDAKCNzBjOGU1GzGJWije-J_d-vP7A4/s640/photo-39.jpg" width="426" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">AWESOME! How top notch is this!?!</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWGd7RCQIeF1_8e3eTUJxkz8-DLEY87zMLxgIGiPoXmSEwoc7tPdh25zVOxCG8CEHhnNWH9blNBWBzXQZivFcDnaNIg4SB8o7bpTNhe5v8R2MIjz3riON_Zbhch_dC-6EwAtVH9IMg6RY/s1600/photo-40.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWGd7RCQIeF1_8e3eTUJxkz8-DLEY87zMLxgIGiPoXmSEwoc7tPdh25zVOxCG8CEHhnNWH9blNBWBzXQZivFcDnaNIg4SB8o7bpTNhe5v8R2MIjz3riON_Zbhch_dC-6EwAtVH9IMg6RY/s640/photo-40.jpg" width="516" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I would love for my nursery to look like this. When the time comes- RP and I think it'd be fun not to find out what were having. This could go either way!</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIvzqxBFOzdj5DhDlb0Sr69z-R2j8XRTnvhVNL_F3BMtkKpWdIojmhwqrN3tr7uRslD0USyABSrJMLnLmFvS0IpoI30zAfggW6bU9K7HZD-xnUlXCKKcPb-409u5iDbH8nrCGLrcxtJiQ/s1600/photo-41.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="512" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIvzqxBFOzdj5DhDlb0Sr69z-R2j8XRTnvhVNL_F3BMtkKpWdIojmhwqrN3tr7uRslD0USyABSrJMLnLmFvS0IpoI30zAfggW6bU9K7HZD-xnUlXCKKcPb-409u5iDbH8nrCGLrcxtJiQ/s640/photo-41.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I love this quant back porch. So livable and cozy to me. And I love the clay pots with just greenery in them. So clean and inviting!</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxVuEmHWBcsKD1sNwn2D4veiYZ1uHdxvkVvTGCHnKjLzXHT-CWMaeWmOMxbpmMj2V7k1BdxLNCZSDstKsqepzOtaoNgCBbU8fcRrWYAFjQj29XOuzFKC9NrvST3ZrKg4_QqQU3Itm_ws4/s1600/photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxVuEmHWBcsKD1sNwn2D4veiYZ1uHdxvkVvTGCHnKjLzXHT-CWMaeWmOMxbpmMj2V7k1BdxLNCZSDstKsqepzOtaoNgCBbU8fcRrWYAFjQj29XOuzFKC9NrvST3ZrKg4_QqQU3Itm_ws4/s640/photo.JPG" width="454" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This you've seen before in my previous posts. However, I found out this past week that this chandelier was one of 4 used in Miranda Lambert's Wedding. You can read about it <a href="http://junkgypsyblog.com/tag/miranda-lambert/">HERE</a>. But not I will have it in our home. How cool is that!?! </div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-339710168183346379.post-83151565167753579542011-10-12T13:52:00.000-05:002011-10-12T13:52:10.217-05:00Bonjour!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Oh what I would give for this to me be...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">If you know me (or at least looked at my blog a few times) than you know for whatever reason I have an obsession with all things French. Style, music, language, food, people, landscape and most of all- FRANCE itself! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The French don't know how lucky they are to live in such an iconic place. Even the most boring places like court houses and libraries have a classy touch to it like CoCo Chanel came in and designed the space. I mean seriously, it's ridiculous how much good stuff is around them.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Anyway, what I like most about this picture is she's in the middle of all the hustle and bustle however, she's far enough away to just sit and breathe and take it all in. (And she's in a cute dress and hat!)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Have you ever been so caught up in the nonsense that you forget to just breathe and sit in silence and enjoy little things? It's harder than you think. No phone, no computer, no music, nothing. Just sitting on a bench outside, on your porch, in a park, wherever, and just listening to the wind, trees, birds, etc. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Today I feel like doing just that. Sitting in silence. Too bad I don't have an Eiffel Tower to stare at. Guess the Texas skies will have to do. So today when I get home, I am going to sit there. Outside with a glass of wine and watch the clouds go by. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The only thing that could make this better is if a storm rolled in. And I somehow magically appeared in Paris. But until then, Houston will have to make due. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Au revoir!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
